An internationally positioned nature tourism product, evaluated in the field by industry professionals.

From March 26 to 29, 2026, an exclusive FAM Trip (familiarization trip) for tourism professionals will take place in the heart of the Brazilian Pantanal, departing from Corumbá to Porto Jofre. This region is widely recognized for offering one of the highest probabilities of observing wild jaguars in their natural habitat.

The experience is organized by tour operator TURPANBOL and is designed to allow travel agents to evaluate, in real operational conditions, a specialized wildlife observation product that integrates logistics, environmental interpretation, and direct immersion in one of the most ecologically significant ecosystems in South America.

“In the coming months, we will be entering the peak period for jaguar activity, and Porto Jofre remains one of the most consistent destinations in South America for observing them in the wild. For operators welcoming travelers to Bolivia who are specifically seeking to see the jaguar, this represents a strategic opportunity to incorporate a high-demand international product — and potentially position it as a flagship offering within their portfolio,” said Pedro Flores, Director of Turpanbol.

A Strategic Destination for Nature Tourism

The Pantanal is considered the largest tropical wetland in the world and supports extraordinary biodiversity. Within the Encontro das Águas State Park sector, a complex mosaic of rivers, oxbow lakes, and seasonally flooded forests creates ideal conditions for wildlife observation—particularly for the jaguar (Panthera onca).

Porto Jofre, the final point of the expedition, has established itself as one of the most consistent locations for observing this apex predator in the wild. As with all free-ranging wildlife, however, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
