La Chonta, Amboro natural pools

This ecotourism hostel is managed by the area community members. It invites to enjoy an experience in the jungle at one of the Bolivian most diverse National Parks.

La Chonta is a community tourism project that will allow you to immerse yourself in one of Bolivia’s most diverse natural reserves: the Amboro National Park. In this place, one can enjoy vegetation, natural pools, and wildlife observation. This ecotourism hostel is located in the Ichillo province, Buena Vista municipality, just 135 kilometers from Santa Cruz de la Sierra city.

If one likes to hike, the interpretation circuit cannot be missed, where you will learn more about the area flora and fauna. Also, if you are a panoramic view fan, you can enjoy a viewpoint that will allow you to observe the majestic landscape that surrounds the hostel.

If you like adventure, you can also do activities such as hiking and night observation.
Best time to visit:

  • The best season to visit this venture is from April to October, since it is the dry season, and it is easier to get there by car. If you want to arrive on your own, you can do it by vehicle or motorcycle. Hiring a guide is recommended to ensure you get the most out of the xperience.

  • Comfortable clothing such as a long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt, pants, and walking shoes
  • In case of entering the natural pools, bathing suit and sandals
  • Towel
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Water

Lodging: Bs 75 per person (11 dollars)

Guide: Bs 150, for groups of up to five people. ($22)
