Sustainable tourism in the “Corazon del Madidi Ecolodge”

If you want to visit the Madidi National Park, in the Bolivian Amazon, this tourism initiative managed bythe area community members is a great alternative. You can opt for tours from two or more days.

This local ecotourism venture with low environmental impact was created in 2011 by a eight local guides group from the San Jose de Uchupiamonas indigenous community, who work to preserve and protect the region’s wildlife, and promote their communities’ economic and social development.

As its name suggests, the ecolodge is located in the heart of the Madidi National Park, in the San Jose de Uchupiamonas Communal Land of Origin (TCO), a three-and-a-half-hour boat ride up the Beni and Tuichi rivers. from Rurrenabaque (Beni department). A privileged environment, surrounded by vegetation and unique fauna.

Here, the community members offer an authentic and unforgettable experience. All the staff are of indigenous origin, which guarantees a cultural experience and a fair and respectful treatment for the people who provide their services and are the ecolodge suppliers.

This Community-based ecotourism has become a powerful tool in the fight against extreme poverty and care for the biological diversity that Madidi National Park houses.
