Tomarapi, an initiative that invites you to discover the Sajama

This community enterprise is located within an Andean ecosystem with attractions such as quenua forests, geysers, and hot springs.

The Tomarapi Ecotourism Lodge is a community tourism venture made up of local Aymara families. It is located on the Sajama snowy Mountain foot, the highest Bolivian volcano, at more than 6000 meters above sea level, in the Oruro department.

In addition to lodging, the community members offer guided tours, which include hikes along the majestic Sajama banks, the Huaynakhota lagoon, the community surroundings walking or by bicycle exploration, and visits to the colonial church.

The quenua forest hike is also part of the program, where varieties of herbs that grow in the area are observed, highlighting the benefits that their consumption brings. The trip ends with a visit to the hot springs, where you can take postcard-photos of this destination’s unique landscape.

The tour includes:

  • Round trip local transportation (Tambo Quemado / Sajama park entrance)
  • Entrance to the Sajama National Park
